Clinic Synopsis
This panel will address the recent headlines about gender and power disparities in the professional music world and discuss parallels in the college band ecosystem. Led by a group of women band directors, the session aims to provide a safe space for candid conversation. Supported by suggestions about how to proactively dismantle some of the historically problematic systems and cultural norms, the discussion will provide strategies for both men and women who may find themselves in a position to take action.
